About the indicators
These indicators come from the Ministry of Health’s New Zealand Health Survey, and from our analysis of the Ministry of Health’s National Collections datasets (National Minimum Dataset, and New Zealand Mortality Collection). For more information, see the Resources page.
Mental health is influenced by a range of factors, including physical activity, nutrition, alcohol use, and drug use. You can find other relevant indicators in the following topics: environmental health, alcohol-related harm, health status, and child and youth health.
These indicators provide supporting information for the New Zealand Environmental Health Intelligence (EHI) programme. For more information about the EHI programme, visit www.ehinz.ac.nz.
