Districts (formerly district health boards) are responsible for the health of the people living in their district. There are 20 districts in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Authority

Territorial authorities (TAs) include city councils and district councils. TAs provide services and infrastructure for their local community. There are 67 TAs in Aotearoa New Zealand.

About the indicators

These indicators are based on the work of the Alcohol Harm Reduction Indicators Work Group, South Island Public Health Partnership. This indicator set is a work in progress and is part of the Environmental Health Intelligence NZ (EHINZ). Further indicators and results will be added over time.
